Releases, new arrests, court transports, classification movement, and data corrections can change the roster throughout the day. A person booked very recently may not appear until after transport, intake, property handling, medical screening, and the hourly update cycle.

People often search for a state prisoner in the county jail roster because Kings County contains three CDCR prisons. If the person is serving a state sentence at Avenal, CSP-Corcoran, or SATF, search CIRIS instead of the county jail records page.

Kings County Inmate Profile Fields
The inspected sample profile at the county locator displayed General Info, Arrest Details, and Charge Details. It did not display a booking photo. It also did not show full address, confidential medical or classification details, or a public housing-unit explanation. Raw embedded data may include additional internal fields, but public copy should promise only the fields seen in the public result and detail pages.
The result list and detail page also separate person identity from booking event identity. Person # appears to identify the person in the jail system, while Booking # identifies the current booking event. A court case number, when shown, belongs to the Superior Court case path. Mixing those numbers can send a records request to the wrong office or make it harder for staff to find the correct record.

Kings County Booking Records
Kings County inmate records begin after arrest and intake. Custody policy sources describe property inventory, money verification, contraband control, medical screening, and classification. Initial classification is meant to identify predatory, violent, and at-risk inmates. Kings County Jail Mail
Mail, money, commissary, and phone details should be verified before sending anything. The custody manual lists inmate mail, accounts, telephone access, and commissary services. Official board material describes a Pigeonly off-site personal-mail processing service used to reduce contraband, with legal mail excluded. The research did not locate a current public Pigeonly mailing-address format for Kings County Jail, nor did it locate a confirmed current public money-deposit vendor, fee table, kiosk location, or phone-rate schedule.
Because those operational details can change by contract, the best official fallback is the jail information line before sending money orders, photos, packages, books, or legal mail. CDCR prison mail is different. Avenal, CSP-Corcoran, and SATF use CDCR facility-specific P.O. boxes and require the incarcerated person's name and CDCR number.

The public Kings County Sheriff CA mobile app is another documented channel. The Apple App Store listing identifies the seller as County of Kings, and the Google Play listing identifies OCV, LLC as developer. The app advertises public-safety news, reporting crimes, interactive features, and viewing inmates. The research did not confirm an app-only inmate roster because the official website locator already provides public access.
For a documented current custody answer, use the official roster first. The app can be useful for mobile access, but jail information and Sheriff Records remain the official fallback channels when a profile is missing or unclear.
The public app should not be confused with KCSO Connected, an internal employee app found during research.
